AMAL MOHAMED COLLEGE:

Jamal Mohamed College founded in 1951, as an affiliated college to the University of Madras was then affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, when the Bharasthidasan University was formed in the year 1984.The College is being administered by the Society of Jamal Mohamed College. "Jamal Mohamed College is established in a sprawling land area of 87 acres as a religious minority institution with the primary objective of providing higher education to the downtrodden and socially backward sections of the society in general and Muslim minority in particular"

AMAL MOHAMED COLLEGE:

All the Departments in the Jamal Mohamed are research facilitated providing facilities for students to take M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes and they continuously produce a good number of Ph.Ds and M.Phils every year. Many of these Departments have carried out Major and Minor research projects sustained by leading funding agencies


Many of the members of staff of the college have visited foreign countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Italy, USA, Canada, Israel, France, Spain, Dubai, Australia, Germany, Finland, Thailand, Mauritius etc, for presenting papers and delivering lectures in their areas of specialization.

Hostel:

The Khajamian Hostel, one of the biggest hostels in our state of Tamil Nadu, cities about 2500 inmates enjoying all the basic and modern facilties. The PG New Hostel has 700 Female Students. Besides there are separate hostels for sportsmen, PG and research scholars and M.B.A students in the Khajamian Hostel endeavor.The night soil bio gas plant and steam Plants are setup as a measure of renewable energy projects in the hostel.


During 2003 to 2005 period, compound walls for the Hostel, M.B.A was constructed and it separated them. Hostel with 2 stories, Hospital with 5 beds, STD / ISD Booth without service charges, separate prayer hall, Browsing Centre and Bio gas plant were completed.



Extra-Extracurricular:    
                   Besides academic activities, the JAMAL MOHAMED COLLEGE has been giving due encouragement and fullest support to extra-curricular activities like Sports, NCC, NSS, Leo, Rotaract, Anti-dowry, Youth Red Cross, Consumer Club,FineArts, USSC, Red Ribbon Club, Students Exnora etc.
